Fraser highway

one way upgrades

  • Date: 2025
  • Location: Langley, BC
  • Project Type: Municipal Infrastructure

About this Project

This high-profile renewal of a key downtown corridor in Langley involves major utility and streetscape upgrades along Fraser Highway between 204 Street and 206 Street. With the corridor fronted by dozens of small businesses, maintaining access and minimizing disruptions has been central to the project’s success.

B&B Contracting has worked closely with Langley City and directly with local business owners to ensure operations remain open throughout construction. Maintaining foot traffic, vehicle access, and clear communication have been daily priorities, with field teams proactively coordinating with merchants to avoid loss of business.

Scope of work includes:

  • Reconstruction of approximately 370m of road including new curb and gutter, asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks, raised crossings, and decorative paver plazas and banding
  • Public realm enhancements including landscaping, street trees, irrigation systems, and urban site furnishings
  • Street lighting and traffic signal upgrades
  • Removal of a buried concrete slab beneath the existing roadway
  • Major utility renewals include concrete-encased BC Hydro duct bank and underground vaults, storm sewer upgrades, sanitary sewer replacements and new watermain with service connections and hydrants

This ongoing project is transforming the streetscape into a more pedestrian-friendly, vibrant commercial zone, while also modernizing critical underground infrastructure.
