Indigenous Inclusion Policy
Indigenous Inclusion Policy
B&B firmly believes that there are great advantages to working in partnership with Indigenous communities. As a part of this commitment, we take a long-term approach to fostering relationships with Indigenous communities that are built on mutual trust and respect. Recognizing and respecting the importance of Indigenous peoples’ traditional knowledge, as well as their historical and spiritual connection with the lands on which we work and live, is the cornerstone on which our relationships are formed.
B&B commits to be proactive and transparent in its engagements with Indigenous communities and seeks to create and maintain relationships that will have long-term benefits for all parties. Our approach is to build capacity by offering employment opportunities, training, and mentoring, as well as revenue-sharing opportunities with the goal of providing a successful and sustainable future.
B&B’s areas of focus are as follows:
· Education, skills and training.
· Economic enhancement.
· Environmental and archeological stewardship.
· Cultural education, awareness, and preservation.
B&B’s agreements allow for inclusive meaningful employment opportunities that will allow for full training and growth within our organization, as well as worthwhile revenue-sharing opportunities. We acknowledge the traditional territories of Indigenous communities, and it is our goal to foster relationships with Indigenous communities across British Columbia and Canada.
