About this Project
B&B delivered this two-site design-build road improvement project in Chilliwack, continuing to expand our capabilities in collaborative project delivery. We partnered with long-standing engineering consultants—teams we’ve worked with on numerous traditional bid-build projects—ensuring an efficient and well-coordinated design-build process.
On Tyson Road, the scope included full reconstruction of approximately 1.3 km of roadway, including upgraded drainage, paving, street lighting, curb, and multi-use paths on both sides. The project also involved widening a signalized intersection and upgrading the Tyson–South Sumas traffic signals.

On Keith Wilson Road, crews reconstructed roughly 600 m of roadway, adding new drainage, paving, lighting, curb, a sidewalk and bike lanes on the north side, and a multi-use path on the south.
The project required extensive coordination with stakeholders such as Trans Mountain, BC Hydro, and the RCMP, as well as nearby schools. A key part of the project’s success was our ongoing communication with local residents. Our Superintendent led much of this effort directly — maintaining access to homes, ensuring high-quality driveway restorations, and proactively addressing concerns throughout construction. This hands-on approach helped maintain strong community relationships and minimized disruption during the work.
